The Clip+ replaced the discontinued original Clip, with which it shared nearly identical hardware aside from the microSDHC slot. The Clip Jam supports folders for additional compartmentalization, as well as not requiring you to format your iTunes library to MP3 before transfer. Thus for instance using mp3 files under Music one might have dozens of folders with names of music groups and inside each folder only mp3 files for that artist. Though its sound quality can't compare to expensive high-res music players, the Clip Jam sounds fine -- unless you're audiophile, you won't notice the difference between listening to this or an iPod. The Clip Jam’s actual clip lacks serrated teeth like other devices in the market and also doesn’t open particularly wide. Note I’ve owned a Sansa Clip+ for about a decade and recently purchased two Clip Jam players for Christmas gifts that I have configured.
