About this deal

My boyfriend’s older brother is like that scary movie that you peek through your hand to watch. He is handsome, strong, and completely terrifying. The star of his college’s basketball team and now gone pro, he’s more concerned with the dirt on his shoe than me. Stephanie: Just finished Corrupt by Penelope Douglas. WOW! This book is major intense. It’s different and I had a hard time reading some of it. As the big confrontation is happening, I was feeling some serious anxiety. Didn’t know how far it would go. Overall I did enjoy it and would love to read a follow up with Kai and Will. The thin spaghetti straps did almost nothing to hold up my breasts, but it fit perfectly, molding to my body, and it made my skin look darker than it was. Mrs. Crist had awesome taste, and it was probably a good thing that she’d gotten me the dress, after all. I’d been too busy preparing to leave for school tomorrow to bother with what to wear tonight. Now, I’ve graduated high school and moved on to college, but I haven’t stopped watching Michael. He’s bad, and the dirt I’ve seen isn’t content to stay in my head anymore.

Corrupt serves as a cautionary tale, warning readers of the dangers of blindly trusting people in power. The writing style in Corrupt is both engaging and powerful. Penelope Douglas’ writing is vivid and gripping, allowing the reader to feel the tension and emotion of the characters. Will getting drowned in the sea, then Michael saving him, only to see Rika drowning in the sea, and again Michael saving her, then Trevor drowning in the sea?! Seven words to describe Erika Fane, Rika: Good-hearted, smart, determined, forgiving, spirited, trusting and impressionable. In addition, the characters have relationships with other people in their lives, such as family members, friends, and colleagues. This further develops the plot and explores the motivations of the characters. The emotional impact of the story is also palpable, as the characters deal with the highs and lows of their relationships. Suspense and intrigue also keep the reader engaged as the story progresses to an unexpected conclusion.I read this 2 days ago and I still can't stop thinking about it. There was one particular scene that really threw me and made me wonder if it was really necessary. However, after giving it some though, it was barely a blip on my radar. I also wished for a bit of something from Michael at the end (I won't say what because I'm a teasing bitch like that) but you'll see what I mean once you read it. But once again, thinking on it some more, Penelope stayed true to his character, and having him handle it any other way would not have been that. So I can respect that. He wasn’t like Will. Kai’s loyalty lasted only so long as you deserved to keep it, and he was strong. So much stronger than me as we both well knew. Various examples from the Penelope Douglas Corrupt book illustrate the complexity of Jax’s character. In one scene, Jax visits a strip club and gets into a fight with a dancer, demonstrating his disregard for authority. In another, Jax finds himself in a love triangle between his best friend and his brother’s girlfriend, showcasing his selfish decisions and disregard for other people’s emotions. In the climax of the story, Rika confronts Michael and the other Horsemen. She reveals the truth about the night of the prank and forcing them to face the consequences of their actions. Michael and Rika finally admit their feelings for each other, but they must overcome their dark pasts and confront their demons to find redemption. Yeah, I highly doubted Delia Crist, my mother’s best friend and the matriarch of Thunder Bay, our small East Coast community, was spending her precious time looking for me herself.

Brad, a former lover of Saddie’s, serves as the novel’s antagonist, aiming to sabotage her relationship with Jaxon. Other significant characters include Mrs. Clarkson, Jaxon’s assistant, and Tessa, who works for Jaxon’s company. in all seriousness tho, i was loving this book until the 65% mark where it all went downhill. the games Michael (H) and Rika (h) were playing with all that sexual tension, their history (Michael was Rika's best friend/ex bff's older brother and she's always had a crush on him but he ignores her, treating like her an annoying little sister, us readers knowing Michael is trying to ruin her life but Rika is oblivious, etc. were all CHEFS KISS MATERIAL but then a ton of stupid shit had to happen because of the rushed ending. Will was absolutely right. Damon, Kai, and he would’ve come for me eventually. I knew it three years ago, and although I was afraid, I wasn’t surprised. No. I couldn’t run. They’d find me soon, and I wanted them to. I shouldn’t have run from them in the first place. Corrupt” by Penelope Douglas is a dark romance novel that tells the story of Erika “Rika” Fane, a young woman who gets entangled with a group of dangerous boys known as the Horsemen. The novel is known for its dark, gritty atmosphere and intense, suspenseful plot. The book is also full of suspenseful moments, such as when Jax is threatened by a gang of members and is forced to flee. Jax’s criminal activities bring a source of conflict, putting him into a life-threatening situation. Standing up straight, I squared my shoulders and let the fear sit. I didn’t push it away or try to bury it. Whoever reads Penelope Douglas’ novel Corrupt is sure to be captivated by the variety of subplots and symbolism woven throughout the story. The main character, Sam, is on a journey of transformation, from an inexperienced young man to a powerful and independent leader. Overall, Corrupt is an engaging and captivating read that will leave the reader wanting more. Myriad of readers have found the story to be an inspiring and uplifting experience. Moments of awesome reading and moments of dubious Maryse. I just couldn’t “go with it”. How they spoke to her, at times seeming as if they had an “all knowing comprehension” of the world, how they spoke to each other… the things they thought they were entitled to.
