About this deal

Honey stays present while citruses die down a bit as we approach heart notes. Each time I test it, I cannot shake off the feeling of the fact that due to the ingredient restrictions on musks( Civet), and Oakmoss being almost completely banned from use in perfumery, there is a big empty hole that embraces the middle stage. I recommend using Kouros during the Fall and Winter for the best experience. Still, it works quite nice when it’s warm as well. Target audience and compliment factor

Ted Lapidus Pour Homme – an aromatic Fougere fragrance released in 1987. The main notes include Honey, Tobacco, and Incense. The lasting power is 24+ hours with great projection. Kouros has seen many flankers through the years with most of them now discontinued. Summer, Cologne, and Fresh versions have bitten the dust, so here are those still easily available ones: Performance is good, and funnily enough, on the same level as almost every modern designer out there. The recent trend of wearing subtle fragrances in the working environment has caught up with the old Kouros as well. No other fragrance has taken me this long to get a grip of. Even though I've liked it for a long time, I've been hesitant to wear it in public due to the animalics and the stupid "urinal cake" associations. (Perhaps my olfactory pleasure is not worth smelling like an antisocial element with all the possible repercussions this might have on one's life.) Curious enough, on the occasions I've tried it, I've only ever received positive comments about it being a manly scent, smelling like incense or just smelling good. Factoring in the rare public usage, you could say that this is actually one of my most complimented fragrances. When it comes to perfumes, from the 80s up until the late 2000’s Yves Saint Laurent was one of the most influential and creative houses that released hit after hit.So I went to buy one two or three years ago I went to a store and sprayed Kouros (again, I never knew there were flankers) to my hand to see if that was it and to my surprise I couldn´t establish a connection with that smell. I just didn´t connect it to what I used to wear. Not even in the drydown. It was too dark and buttery (apart from the initial blast). Kouros est une bête, toujours présent, dépendant de la chaleur et de quantité appliquée, il peut être étouffant , trop fort , trop animal .

Who grumbles here, has probably never really understood Yves Saint Laurent. And also not the high art of perfumes. Edit: Parfums-Corp vintage Aftershave coming, and vintage Charles of the Ritz 10ml miniature EDT coming. There is nothing like Kouros. I used to even spray it on my pillow so I could smell it all night long. I love how YSL skilfully marries vanilla with… dirt. English is not my first language, so I apologize upfront for all grammar, syntactic and orthography mistakes I will make. The only downside is that I find it hard to wear for a young guy, it's clearly a mature OR very masculine scent. This is just a tad sweeter version of vintage Kouros. Perhaps that sweetness comes from pineapple, maybe not. Still the camphor and incense, and of course civet are there. "Hot herbs" are there as well. Nonetheless, I forked out big time on the stuff I do have now but I am glad that I did because as much as its great to be able to recreate a fragrance, there is nothing quite like the 'real thing' and I think this may be a bigger factor in perception than people may realise. Nonetheless, Kouros is the best fragrance I have ever, and ever will smell to be honest. It is unique and bold and I don't care if anyone else does or does not like it. KING.

Far more wearable than the “historical predecessors league “ (“Aka, “King Kouros” as released until around 2013), but not at the cost of missing personality. Sharp aldehydes, artemisia, and clary sage create a soapy top. Under this is a tumult of leather, honey, civet, and patchouli which feels completely alive. This is of course all supported by oakmoss, vetiver, orris, and musks as far as the eye can see.I rushed home to rub vinegar on myself to remove the smell. I think the smell is mostly gone. This review has helped me process the trauma. Body Kouros – a woody oriental fragrance released in 2000. The main notes include Eucalyptus, Incense, and Benzoin. The lasting power is 8 – 10 hours with moderate projection. The brand employed a Nose that was not good enough to do the reformulation, yet had no qualms selling it to the public. Kouros comes in a white columnar-shaped bottle looking just like something from ancient Greece and statue-like reminiscent of the bodybuilding guys from Kouros commercials. Kouros is the same for me. When I wear it, it doesn't smell good in a modern way. But it makes me want to seduce, to conquer, to fight.
