About this deal

This iron is best for immediate use as it gets hot for steaming in 25 to 30 seconds by using 2400W power. Note: Never use the vertical steam function on an item being worn by anyone. Can I use my steam iron for Dry Ironing? Your iron gets charged within 30 seconds and takes 7 seconds to recharge. You can control the temperature settings according to the fabric being pressed. The highest temperature level available is 220°C. Again, the auto-shut off function provides peace of mind; and a ceramic sole plate means it glides smoothly. You can also use it for vertical steaming, on clothes which are hanging up, as well as on your ironing board. With 2600w of power, it doesn’t get quite as hot and steamy as the Tefal Ultimate Pure – but I liked the spray nozzle and option to use a 210g steam shot to get rid of entrenched creases (although you have to wait four seconds between each shot). The iron’s handle lights up to indicate charging status and takes around 40 seconds to charge from cold. Although it holds its heat for a fair amount of time, it takes a lengthy 25 seconds to recharge once it’s cooled down, which might not be ideal if you’ve got a pile of ironing to get through.

The internal parts may make metallic noises with the change in temperature. There is nothing wrong with it. What should I do if my appliance is not working? If it has not been used for a long time (for example several weeks), use it over the sink for a few minutes to remove any residue that could stain your laundry. Can I fill the iron with water when it is plugged in?We absolutely love the design of the Tefal cordless iron – it’s the only one on our list with a horizontal charging base that you simply slide the iron onto. This makes it far more stable than any other cordless iron we’ve reviewed. It also sits well in the hand thanks to a well-designed handle and glides effortlessly over fabrics. The Freemove has a separate button underneath the handle for normal steam and one on the top for a steam boost. Continuous steam flows at 30g/min and there’s an impressive steam boost shot of 190g/min. The Tefal has the smallest water tank at 250ml, though, so will need refilling more frequently.

It has a continuous steam output of 48g/min, along with a steam burst feature for stubborn wrinkles. There’s also a vertical steaming function for clothes on hangers – perfect for those of us who want to do as little ironing as possible. The colour may not be to everyone’s taste, but this is an incredibly good iron at an extremely reasonable price.

Always set your iron to the 'No Steam' function before you start to fill. Why isn't my iron steaming when set on the one dot setting (depending on model)? See the instructions for use to find out what type of water is appropriate and clean the soleplate from time to time with a damp sponge. What is the right temperature for my clothes?

This Morphy Richard cordless steam iron works like a regular iron but with no cable attached to it, which means it is easily slidable on the surface for comfortable ironing work. At the end of your ironing session, we would suggest that once your iron has cooled down, you should wipe over the soleplate and around the steam holes to remove any burned fibers that may have started collecting around the steam holes. What should I do if my iron has not been used for a long time? Russell Hobbs makes charging your steam iron a breeze. A five second recharge time suggests that there is no delay in its use.It also has an indicator light that will help you refill this iron with water every time the water level gets low. It has a generous 300ml water tank. The water level is quite visible, so you know when to top it up. The anti-drip function saves your clothes from water spots. Soleplates are inevitably ceramic on modern irons. Weight may also be a consideration for you – a heavier iron may actually aid in getting wrinkles out faster, but can be tiring on the arms.

The water tank limit is 250ml. The anti-calc system does not let limescale and calcium build-up. It prolongs the life span of the unit. Your appliance has been designed to function using untreated tap water. If your water is very hard, we recommend that you use a max of 50% untreated tap water and 50% distilled water available in most shops. It’s fully charged in 11 seconds and will give you around 30 seconds of ironing time at once. When power gets low, a smart light and beep will alert you to the fact the iron needs recharging. We felt that the iron’s charge didn’t last quite as long as some other brands, but this is still a high-quality iron that does an excellent job of zipping over fabrics and removing creases, but perhaps just not the best for big loads. It will become an indispensable part of your laundry care as it is tidy, hassle-free, and does a great job! Let the anti-calc valve soak for 4 hours in a glass of commercially available white vinegar or natural lemon juice, then thoroughly rinse the anti-calc valve under tap water.
