About this deal

It is true that the inflatable tents are typically slightly more expensive than their pole-based siblings, but the price differential is reducing as the technology gets more mature. We feel that the ease of use outweighs the slightly higher cost. It stands tall at 2.2 meters (over 7 feet), and can easily hold a large table and chairs for relaxing under. It uses the same materials as the air tents, and has taped seams and a 6000 mm hydrostatic head for high-end waterproofing. There are 4 doors on the shelter – 2 have over-sized windows, and 2 have mesh panels with optional curtains. All doors can be fully rolled up to let light in and air flow. The Berghaus Air porch provides extra living and storage space in your Berghaus Air tent. it is compatible with the Air 600, Air 400 and Air 800 tent models.

Let’s talk specs for the Joro. It comes in a rather natty blue colour and is reasonably similar in design to the Coleman Weathermaster 6XL. We certainly have no regrets with purchasing this tent, and our family will continue to give it a good hammering throughout the coming season (whichever one that may be).We also use the porch area to dump all of our wet and muddy walking gear. This means that the main living space doesn’t get as dirty as it would if we were tramping about through the entire tent. It makes for a great changing area, and all in all it allows us to keep the main living area less cluttered, cleaner and easier to get around.

Yes, Berghaus makes an Air Porch that can be seamlessly attached to any of their air tents. It gives you an additional space measuring 345cm x 360cm, and has all the same high-quality features as their tents. It is meant to be used as a shaded porch, but you could use it as a living space, storage area, or even another bedroom. Pitching time is around 20 minutes for all versions, and surprisingly it is fairly straightforward. As soon as the five airbeams are pumped up (hand pump included) then the main structure is automatically created and just requires pegging out and storm straps attached if required. Windows and Doors a flexible doorstep that can be dropped to ground level for ease of access. This helps stop water getting in This was the first time putting up the tent (in the rain) and it took us around 30 minutes to put up the main tent and porch. It took us a bit longer as a few rookie errors were made along the way. Mostly with the porch. Getting it to lean into the tent correctly so no rain got in was a challenge. We did the best we could but properly remedied this the next day when the rain had stopped by pulling it over the main tent a little tighter with the guide ropes. Two entries allow you to come and go as you please, and windows surround the tent to allow light in while you enjoy the views. Mesh doors to keep bugs out and work with adjustable venting points to circulate air. The shelter can be fully closed when wet weather hits and premium waterproofing (6000mm hydrostatic head, taped seams, sewn-in floor, door awning) ensure a dry camping trip. We love its size, plenty of room means that our family of 5 and guests have adequate room and aren’t falling over each other or all our kit. It’s worth considering the ‘ Berghaus essential bundle‘, (which includes a lightweight, waterproof, insulating carpet) at the same time as your tent to save money. Extras for the Berghaus Air 8 tent The living area can become rather cosy, but it is not massive to feel lost, or too small to become claustrophobic. You do not. Berghaus air tents come with a pump as well as a manometer. This will allow you to inflate the tent to the proper PSI so you don’t over-inflate and damage it. Can the bedrooms be divided?

The overall size is misleading, because from the side it only looks small, at 3m. It is not until you look at it from a different angle you realise how big it is, at 7.5 m. Wrangle in a small child to assist! It’ll keep them busy and away from getting up to mischief while you’re trying to take down the tent! The Dometic Ascension in use with the optional side annexe attached. In Use – our thoughts on the Dometic Ascension FTX 601 TCActually we should give a shoutout to the windows on the Antrim – they are excellent. The ‘glass’ needs to be seen to be believed and the Diamond Clear name they have chosen is very apt. These are up there with the best windows on the tent scene at the moment. Lounge and Sleeping Area Main lounge area (320cm x 190cm) having large side and front doors, each with windows offering great visibility – Kampa use their ‘crystal clear’ tech for this and it works well. It has a hook for a light in the middle of the tent and in each bedroom. The thing I liked was the Velcro to strap in any loose wires from the ceiling so the could safely reach your electrical point. Something was bugging me whilst I was writing this post. I realised that athe images being used to sell this tent don’t actually do it justice. They do not show the actual size of the middle/living section. I know from experience that we comfortably seat 5/6 people on large folding chairs in that area. The top image shows the middle section as being smaller than the bedrooms. This isn’t correct, so I created a new drawing that is more to scale. The bottom image is more accurate because that middle section is a nice large 300x330cm, which is larger than the bedrooms and gives is plenty of room for spending time together comfortably in the evenings.
