I hope that GW does something interesting with it. It’s such a fantastic sculpt, and it would be great to see more variety on the tabletop. To aid in covering the XV95 Ghostkeel's large size, the Battlesuits are deployed accompanied by two MV5 Stealth Drones. These Drones project overlapping stealth fields which help support the XV95's own internal stealth field generators. While some Drones are seen as expendable assets, these two are invaluable to the Ghostkeel's Shas'vre, who often forms an unnaturally strong bond with them while on extended missions behind enemy lines. Indeed, that’s pretty much the main reason to take a Tiger Shark. If you want some strong, accurate shooting and you are bored of the Riptide, the Tiger Shark could be worth a look.

Or, you can ignore it entirely and add one late, the absolute latest you want one if when you're starting to produce broadside battlesuits as the two mech incredibly well together and you probably really need the loyalty then. By turn 120 (normal speed) a newly recruited fireblade will be turn 6 right away so at that point if you don't recruit 1 or 2 you are gimping yourself on purpose. it should be easy to see just how strong this mechanic can be, despite starting out as fairly uninspiring, a +5/+8 loyalty bonus in your cities in the midgame is a game changer. I don't even want to write this one. You'll probably lose. Spam drones drones drones and hope it works out or something. Assuming eldar don't make banshee crisis suits are good vs guardians. Rangers will be a big problem however for them so there isn't much of a solution there comp-wise. In this loadout, the Ghostkeel will threaten some light to medium infantry, but will struggle to do much work against most other targets. While the CIR’s stat-line is respectable, the Ghostkeel will hit its target on average three times and will wound a further two against most targets. For the points cost, this is quite underwhelming. The Ghostkeel itself comes with its Ghostkeel Electronic Warfare Suite, which gives enemies -1 to hit rolls when outside 6″ of the model. Separately, the Stealth Drones give -1 to hit for themselves or a nearby Ghostkeel, though due to the way modifiers work in 9E this is generally redundant.

Final Thoughts

Thanks, as always, to Games Workshop for providing an advance copy of the index for us to review. Faction Rule

They benefit greatly from having a healer nearby to restore models lost to overcharge (healer drone, ethereal) and really enjoy hiding in transports until it's time to blast something into orbit. But I would argue that the main strength of the Tiger Shark is indeed its ballistic skill. Hitting on 2s is rare for T’au players, and now that our Commanders are less useful, we need to look elsewhere for a 2+ platform. The Tiger Shark offers T’au players a 2+ platform with plenty of big guns, all for 416 points. Granted, this is quite a bit more than the roughly 300 points of Commanders that we are looking to replace, but it could very well be worth it. And what’s more, nearby Drones can use the savoir protocols ability to intercept incoming firepower. The Broadside battlesuit is technically a variant of the Crisis suit, having been developed by Earth Caste engineers after a veteran pilot asked them “what if more gun?” In all seriousness, the Broadside was created early along in the Tau’s expansion when it became clear that while the Crisis suit had an excellent blend of mobility, firepower, and resilience, there were situations where the Tau would need to “anchor” a section of a line with overwhelming superiority of fire- and that was where the Broadside came in. Over the years, the chassis has been rebuilt time and time again, growing further away from its roots each time as additional weaponry, servomotors, armor, and sensory systems were built on along with an improved power plant, cooling baffles, etc, etc. It is now almost unrecognizable as having been descended from the original XV8s and has likewise evolved a unique role on the battlefield that extends well beyond simply being a static bunker unit. Those skyspear missiles are pretty respectable as well: with D6 shots, strength 6, AP-2, and damage 2, there’s a lot of targets that T’au players can threaten. There are a handful of other comparisons to similarly-priced options in a variety of other factions, but the Ghostkeel seldom comes out looking good. Allows units within 6″ of a charged unit to fire overwatch as if they were the target of the charge, at the cost of not being able to fire overwatch again that turn. EDIT: The Eldar have seen a significant rebalance in the next patch and this section is no longer accurate. I don't have enough matched played on the new patch to give an accurate analysis but it's definitely doable now.

This is a favorable matchup in the sense that your roster generally performs very well here. You have however to be careful around heavy destroyers. I find that basic infantry here, fire warriors, pathfinders supported by gunrig and later sky ray (to snipe lord and heavy destroyers) is the best way to go for me. Until recently, the deployment of the XV95 Ghostkeel Battlesuit was restricted to covert missions. In truth, development of these potent battlesuits was completed around the beginning of the Third Sphere Expansion, but it was decreed by the Ethereals that these new weapons should remain hidden until their unveiling held the greatest inspirational value.

You can level it as a secondary skill in case you are trying to finish off a city or hero that are already damaged but most of the time you will use the accuracy buff.

Once again, hold the line. If you get to the HH stage you might manage to work it out but watch out for fire dragons. Ghostkeel’s are cool. They are one of three infiltrating units that T’au has and since the changes to Deep Strike Reserves in FAQ2, that’s all the more important. Even though they won’t be bringing down Guilliman single-handed, they can provide value to the right kind of T’au army. With attention to detail, knowledge of your enemy, and the right cast of supporting units, Ghostkeel’s can provide distraction and buy time for the core of your firebase. They won’t win games by themselves though, so knowing that, you can isolate and remove them or even just ignore them in some situations and depending on your army. Nids are a somewhat reliable tau counter, their immunity to morale shenanigans and a roster generally designed for mobility and killing low armor targets is perfectly suited to handle tau. What *is* mind blowing is the ultimate: 2 actions in one turn to the affected units. Used on units like the riptide this is a game winning move.Nado, Shas'vre - She died defending the Sept World Vesh'yo, from an invasion by Adeptus Mechanicus Explorator Fleets. [4] Because of the way the skyray works it is especially powerful when paired with a commander for buffs, as you only need to get the buff once to get full benefit on your 5 turns CD volleys... You don't need either? Ok then, maybe you'd rather use your nova engines for 5 mobility, you get the idea.
