About this deal

This laptop has a built-in Bluetooth module. It enables you to connect the computer to Bluetooth mice and other Bluetooth peripherals, smartphones, and other Bluetooth-equipped devices. Windows 11 Pro version adds some business-specific features in comparison to the standard Windows 11 Home. The Core i7-11800H is one of the most powerful laptop processors. It is used in gaming-class and other high-performance laptops. However, it isn’t as power-efficient as the common mid-tier laptop CPUs. Thunderbolt 4 is a high-speed peripheral connectivity technology for compatible devices. The Thunderbolt connection goes via USB-C interface.

Windows 11 Home is aimed at the regular home and office computer users. Only select business users need the Professional edition. The Core i5-11400H is a high-performance processor. It's typically used in gaming laptops, since many games require a high computing power. The i5-11400H is also good for other heavy tasks like professional video and photo editing. On the negative side, it isn’t as powerful as the Core i7 H series and doesn’t provide power efficiency of the mid-tier laptop CPUs. Terms Apply. Promotion ends 3 December 2023. Everything hinges on it: We test Inspiron laptop hinges to ensure they still feel tight, even after opening and closing the lid 20,000 times. The RTX 3060 is a fast gaming-class video card. The RTX 3070 and 3080 from the same lineup are even faster for completely smooth gameplays on high settings and resolutions. Buttoned up: No matter what you set your power and multimedia buttons to do, we've tested them all to survive up to 40,000 pushes with no problems. While upgraded sound quality is often a selling point for premium large-screen laptops like the MacBook Pro and the XPS 17, the Inspiron 16 Plus's two speakers deliver rather pedestrian audio, more befitting of its price. Don't be fooled by the giant grille above the keyboard that looks like it's for speakers; it's mostly for heat exhaust from the cooling system. The real speakers project from two slits at the bottom of the chassis, with the sound bouncing off your desk or whatever surface the laptop is resting on. (Photo: Molly Flores)

You can also use microSD cards with a card adapter. Our test unit also comes with 16GB of memory and a 512GB solid-state drive, which should meet the needs of most buyers. While 16GB is the memory ceiling, you can upgrade to a 1TB SSD if you need more space, and can even install a second SSD yourself (more on that later). Likewise, the eight-core Core i7-11800H is the flagship CPU option (there's no Core i9 available), but you can upgrade the GPU from the RTX 3050 in our system to the RTX 3060. Most buyers won't need the graphics upgrade; you'd only get it if you know you can take advantage of the additional 2GB of video memory (for a total of 6GB) the RTX 3060 offers over the RTX 3050. The GeForce RTX 3050 is a real dedicated gaming-class video card. It's much more powerful than the basic and common integrated graphics processors and capable of running smoothly all modern PC games. However, there are even faster GPUs in the RTX lineup - the RTX 3050 Ti, 3060, 3070 and 3080. You should consider them if you want to maximize performance for gaming on high resolutions and high detail settings.

Both battery capacities are excellent. However, the notebook's powerful components can consume a lot of power, especially under heavy load.is recommended for extremely heavy multi-tasking and special applications. For most users, everything above 16GB is an overkill.

To my eyes, the Mist Blue color scheme of the Inspiron 16 Plus looks rather dull. I usually appreciate it when laptop makers branch out from the usual silver or gray, but in this case the blue tint is so faint that it might as well be gray. Bright silver accents on the diamond-cut edges of the base and around the touchpad further contribute to the odd color choices. But aesthetics are, of course, a matter of preference, and the Inspiron 16 Plus is anything but ugly. The aluminum finish also helps set it apart from the usual polycarbonate Inspiron notebooks, and the chassis is reassuringly sturdy, with a stiff display hinge and no hint of flex when you strike the keys forcefully. The 802.11AX is the latest Wi-Fi wireless networking standard. It's also known as Wi-Fi 6. When connected to 802.11AX-compatible routers, the 802.11AX modules in laptops bring improvements over the older standards in terms of data transfer speeds and multi-device connectivity. more visuals *: See more with a 16-inch display on the width of a 15-inch laptop with a 16:10 aspect ratio on the new Inspiron 16 Plus. Hard drive retention: Hard drive retention is not available on models with a soldered hard drive, including XPS 9315 2in1, Chromebooks or Venue tablets, except the Venue 11 Pro. The laptop offers high performance needed for heavier tasks like multimedia creation or design. On the negative side, high-performance laptops tend to consume more battery power than the standard ones.
