I think my favorite character has to be Andy's wife. She is intelligent, sassy and a bit extra. Bigger than life. She put a lot of fun into the plot. I love the front cover art. The cute dachshund on the front is what first made me want to read this book! :) What makes the Andy Carpenter series so great (besides Andy’s sarcastic dry humor - which I love!) is that solving the crimes is always a team effort and the way the crimes are solved is complete genius and takes McGyver-esque moments that just made me smile. This is only my second novel by David Rosenfelt and I enjoyed it even more than the last and can’t wait to read more books in this series! These are books you love for the characters. And I love that Laurie is able to twirl Andy around her little finger and he knows it. This book is number 20 in the series but will also easily read as a stand-alone. Highly recommend if you’re searching for a fun laugh out loud light read! For those of you who enjoy them, we have plenty of puns to get you in the festive spirit this season. There's something for everyone, from the extremely cringe-worthy to the simply amusing.

I have gotten to this dubious position with absolutely no planning, and at no stage in my life could I have predicted it. But here I am. Andy & Laurie have a Christmas tradition recently started of wishes from the needy on their tree rather than the usual decorations. One request was from Danny requesting a coat for Mom, a sweater for his dachshund and for his Dad to return since he had gone missing.

Rosenfelt's courtroom scenes are a pleasure to read. They are well presented and honest, even when the client is decidedly unusual. He creates an excellent analogy likening a court case to a mountain climb such as Mt. Everest, and through it introduces the rest of Andy's quirky and memorable team. I can't believe that this is the 20th installment to the Andy Carpenter series! This is definitely a great addition to the series - as always Andy's humorous narration combines nicely with a twisting plot that holds some genuine surprises. Plus, this time there are two new dogs - Andy represents one dog in court, and then later represents the owner of the titular dachshund in a murder conviction. Happiness began with the news of a new andy Carpenter being released. A smile started when I received this new release in my hands. And then I began the latest Andy Carpenter book (on CD). They are told with great humour and contain serious criminal cases and courtroom drama.

When Do You Start Feeling Festive? When Simon, a K-9 companion needs representation, it’s Andy Carpenter to the rescue! When Simon’s handler decides to retire, he asks Andy to file a suit allowing Simon to retire early due to disability, instead of having Simon transferred to another handler for a year. Simon, you see has arthritis and bad hips - and if he were human, he would be granted early retirement but given the fact that he is a dog, he is not granted such accommodation. Seeing as Andy has a love for dogs, he jumps at the chance. Rosenfelt’s characters are affable, relaxed, likeable, and yet focused and diligent when necessary. The first person narrative by Carpenter is a little self-deprecating, a little sarcastic, very humorous, and always focused on his dogs, other peoples’ dogs, and, actually, just the wellbeing of dogs in general. A number of years ago, I left the movie marketing business, to the sustained applause of hundreds of disgruntled producers and directors. I decided to try my hand at writing. I wrote and sold a bunch of feature films, none of which ever came close to being actually filmed, and then a bunch of TV movies, some of which actually made it to the small screen. It's safe to say that their impact on the American cultural scene has been minimal.

When Do You Start Feeling Festive?

Dachshund Through the Snow" is a well-done legal mystery with plenty of twists and suspense. A very nice aftermath hints at the future of the series. I love a character with attitude! And boy does Andy have that in spades! He is one of the funniest, and snarkiest (is that even a word?)🤔 characters’ I’ve come across. Early on I thought he was over the top. But as the story played out I grew to love him (who would have thought?)🤷🏻♀️ This is an absorbing detective story with a challenging client, and complicated adversaries, however, when the chips are down, Carpenter rises to the occasion with excellent intuition, focused investigative skills, and brilliant (in his opinion) legal tactics to save the day for all.

He is also involved in another trial. A policeman is retiring, but the Department insists his arthritic police dog must work another year regardless of the dog's physical condition. Andy sues the Police Department for species discrimination.I did manage to find the time to marry and have two children, both of whom are doing very well, and fortunately neither have inherited my eccentricities.
