About this deal

The sleeve has the Rotring logo, Germany 1928, and the product name on it, along with pen details on the back. But having said this, it is still a useful addition to my art box, good for uninterrupted sketching and for larger pen and wash paintings (the pen needs to go on after the watercolour though unless you want the ink to run). The Carbon Desk Pen and Rotring Art Pen are also very good fountain pens and a worthy alternative to more expensive fountain pens.

However, it’s essential to maintain the same amount of pressure throughout or you may end up with patchy writings (darker and lighter patches for areas where greater and lighter pressure are applied respectively). I’ve noticed that when a fountain pen nib has a big round “ball” shape at the tip, the pen will be very smooth, but you won't have crisp line feeling when you drawing. The only thing left to do is getting a converter for it - my Online converter doesn't fit, and neither does a Parker converter. Artpens are modern fountain pens, but their elegant design preserves the feel and balance of traditional dip pens.

To try the pen out with different line widths and shading, I doodled a thumbnail sketch of a tree growing out of a boulder. Adding the optional converter extends those opportunities as you can then use a much wider range of inks to suit your creative urges. I got these 3 fountain pens recently and this is my review on how they function as pens for drawing. It doesn't seem bothered what diet of ink it is fed, it just lays down ink reliably, never remember it either skipping or flooding.

The nibs can be a little skippy on coated/smooth paper, which can be annoying, but overall they perform well. I just wanted to congratulate for your good and deep review for those three pens; I also wanted to ask if you know how would that Platinum KDP-3000 compare to the Platinum 3776 UEF in regards of line thinness? Suddenly, I want to explore hatching and filling everything with these crisp thin lines, slowly building up a texture made of lines as I fill a page.Additionally make sure your User-Agent is not empty and is something unique and descriptive and try again. My only slight concern with its feed is that I can’t reach that inner part of the feed to wash it out if ink gets caked in there. The Lyra Art pen is available in 36 loose colours includingfluorescent and metallic gold and silver permanent, opaque colours which can beused on dark surfaces .

Another downside to this nib is that if I use Noodler’s bulletproof black in it, it doesn’t come out very black because the nib lays down the ink so thinly. The lines are clean and distinct, but smooth enough on the edges for even new users to be comfortable with.

You can use the Platinum Carbon Ink, but do wash the pen occasionally especially if you're not using it for long periods of time. When pressure is applied to the nib, the line can go about 3 times wider but it requires a lot of pressure. I was surprised at how easily the ink flowed and the amount I could vary the line width with only a slight turn of the barrel. Now I'm using Pelikan's Brilliant Black and although it's not as vibrant as Rotring's own ink, it still isn't bad.The extra resistant fibre used in the tip ensures that the colour laydownis always smooth, clean and precise.
