Description

There are differences between the Japanese release and the rest of the world. Specifically, the number and style of some models are different. Many dark and mysterious beings – and former beings – lurk in the depths below the Mortal Realms, but if you are brave enough to test your intestinal fortitude against them, there are now new ways to begin your Warhammer Underworlds journey.

Space Marine Heroes Series 1 lauched like most 40k releases do, with Ultramarines emblazoned all over the artwork. (not sure why they keep pushing these, the only people I’ve seen actually paint Ultramarines are GW employees – let the flaming begin). Despite coming out after Primaris Marines had launched with 40k 8th edition, this set was focussed on the now classic Tactical marines. They may forever be the best sculpted Tactical Marnes that GW have or will ever produce(d). With all that, GW isn’t even trying to hide the fact these are the same minis from before, just in red plastic instead of blue. Reused Minis While having new minis is always cool, GW is recycling the old Ultramarines set this time. However, if you did miss out on them the last time around in 2018, now you have a second chance. Decorate your painting desk with the second series of Warhammer 40,000 Chibi figures from Bandai, this time expanding the range with adorable takes on an Inquisitor, a Commissar, a Tempestus Scion, a Blood Angels Space Marine, and a certain head-swinging Crimson Fist you may remember from the classic Rogue Trader rulebook – like Space Marine Heroes, each bag contains one random figure with five to collect in this series. These models are also produced on slightly different sprues to normal games workshop offerings. these sprues are quite thin and round. the sprue gates are also much smaller making removal of the parts much easier. these are very much like Gundam sprues rather than the heavy chunky sprues we are used to.It was no surprise that us hungry westerners started shouting up “we want the cool unique models” and so, Games Workshop delivered. The Space Marine Heroes are of course great just to collect and display, but they can also be used in the Warhammer 40,000 miniatures game. Crossover Models: 9 Models available within the Space Marine Heroes collection across the different regional releases.

This product will be on sale prior to release at Wonder Festival 2017 (Summer) taking place on the 30th July 2017. This sort of thing is much more popular in Japan where Games Workshop is starting to make an impact. This style of the product initially launched to attract that market. The models are incredibly well-detailed push-fit models, each with its own sculpted diorama style base. Kind of like the Warhammer Underworlds models. Each model has a choice of heads, both helmeted and unhelmeted options.Unlike their battle-brothers who operate in single-armour formations, this strike force combines a Heavy Intercessor in Gravis armour, a Phobos-clad Eliminator, and Tacticus-armoured Intercessors of the ranged and assault variety – alongside the first ever Captain to grace this edition of Kill Team. These characterful new Space Marines will be available first from select specialist retailers this summer, followed by a wider release at a later date. Keep an eye out for more information on when and where you can get yours. There are a total of twelve models to collect including two secret models. Each is in a sealed box, so you will only know which character is it after opening. Collect them all to complete your army of Space Marines!

The Space Marine Heroes are great just to collect and display, but they can also be used in the Warhammer 40,000 miniatures game.so things don't really match up ( btw,it was a GW store and the GW-guy opened the big box of weekly deliveries right in front of me,so nothing shady should have happened) Japan Release: 12/13 Models – 2 Rare Secret Models (1 extra model is available as part of the paint set only and is not in the blind boxes) The last time there were 12 of them, GW even says they are reusing them, but considering these came out in 2017/2018, maybe there are a lot of people in the hobby now who never saw them… Let’s compare the old ones to the new ones and see if anything is different. Whilst the box art is Ultramarines, none of these models have any chapter specific mouldings, so you can paint them how you like for any faction. Space Marine Heroes – Series 1 Model List The display box is designed like a Rhino, which is pretty cool. Sadly it’s hard to use the box for anything other than displaying the blind boxes, as the top lid isn’t connected to the box but comes off completely.
